METHODIST DAILY REFLECTION FOR TODAY FRIDAY, 18TH SEPTEMBER 2026 - A CALL TO WORSHIP

THEME: A CALL TO WORSHIP

PASSAGE: PSALM 105:1-6

1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

4 Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

MESSAGE:

The Psalmist says: "O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name, make known His deeds among the people; sing to Him praises, tell of all His wonderful works". (Psalm 105:1-2).

The Psalmist gave many admonitions to call upon God's holy name; praise, Him, make known His deeds among the people; sing unto Him; give glory to His name; seek Him and His strength and remember His works among others.

Today, we are called to carry out the charges of the Psalmist to give unto God the glory due unto His name. We must give thanks to Him, as one who has always been our Benefactor, Redeemer, Saviour, Deliverer and Guide. He gives us rain, air, food, shelter, and protects us from dangers. We must continually give him thanks for His favours and marvelous works and His wonderful blessings He pours on us daily.

We should also make known His deeds that others may join us in praising Him. This Psalm is also a call to seek the Lord. He says; "Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face evermore."

If we can carry out all the admonitions of the psalmist, we will be closer to Him and He, in return, will be closer to us and answer our prayers speedily, faithfully and perfectly.

MEMORY VERSE:

"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him."

4. Angels In the height, adore Him;

Ye behold Him face to face;

Sun and moon, bow down before Him;

Dwellers all In time and space,

Praise Him! Praise Him!

Praise with us the God of grace.

Lord, help me to know the secret of praising You. Amen.
