METHODIST DAILY REFLECTION FOR TODAY TUESDAY, 15TH SEPTEMBER 2026 - GOD'S WORD AND FAITH
DATE: TUESDAY, 15TH SEPTEMBER 2026
THEME: GOD'S WORD AND FAITH
PASSAGE: PSALM 119:41-48
MESSAGE:
Verse 41:48 is the sixth stanza of the 22 segments of Ps 119. Each stanza has eight two lines, each beginning with the same letter. This stanza is about salvation through the Word and the outward working of salvation.
Whenever and wherever we speak God's Word, we need not feel ashamed before anyone. Our love for His commandments should be so great that we receive them eagerly, delight in them openly and meditate on them constantly.
The Psalmist desires God's loving kindness, and salvation, which allow him to confidently respond to those who mock him. He trusts in God's promises and finds joy and happiness in obeying them. However, the Psalmist continues to ask the Lord to assist him to live a godly life.
The Psalmist had faith in God's Word and in many promises of Salvation it contains.
He made some vows to obey God's law forever, to walk at liberty "for I seek Thy precepts"; to speak of God's testimonies before Kings and to meditate on God's statutes.
Keeping God's laws, precepts and judgments frees one from the bondage of sin and the devil, he says. Today, as you read the Word of God, also believe it. When you believe it, it will work for you. His Word is a lamp to your feet and a light unto your path (Ps. 119:105).
