METHODIST SUNDAY TONIC 38 FOR WEEK 38 YEAR 2026 - SHARING YOUR TESTIMONY

WEEK/TONIC 38

TOPIC: SHARING YOUR TESTIMONY

TEXT: PSALM 105:1-8

1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
4 Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
7 He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

OBJECTIVE: To have the understanding that through your testimony souls can be converted to Christ

INTRODUCTION

Personal testimony is one of the most influential tools the Holy Spirit uses to stir spiritual interest in people. Testimony is a powerful way to communicate the gospel because it is an opportunity for us to share our story; not because we are great but because Jesus 'The Greatest' lives inside of you. Your testimony is unique and can be used in a variety of situations, from sharing with an individual to addressing a group.

POINTS FOR CONVERSATION

1. "You cannot give what you don't have". Discuss this popular statement in line with the topic of study. 2 Cor. 8:12; John 3:27

2. Briefly discuss these basic principles of sharing personal testimony. Psalm 66:16

a. Keep it short and simple: Acts 4:13,23

b. Avoid too much exaggeration

c. Don't help God by trying to make it sound powerful

d. Clearly present the gospel through your story

e. Avoid too much jokes

3. Mention the benefits of sharing your testimony. Joshua 4:5-7; Psalm 71:15-16; Psalm 145:2-4; 1 Cor. 11:1

CONCLUSION

Testimonies are stories of how God is working in our lives. There are several different aspects of your walk with Jesus that you can share. But also remember that the goal is to glorify Jesus and to draw people to Him. Someone could be saved by hearing how God saved you. Let us be willing and prepared to tell the world of the goodness of Jesus by sharing personal, relatable testimonies.
