METHODIST DAILY REFLECTION FOR 11TH SEPTEMBER 2026 - THE UNITY OF THE BODY

DATE
: FRIDAY, 11TH SEPTEMBER 2026

THEME: THE UNITY OF THE BODY

PASSAGE: ROMANS 14:1-5

1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

MESSAGE:

The human body has many parts and the parts make up one whole Body so it is with the body of Christ. Some are Jews, some gentiles, some slaves and some are free. (I Corinthians 12:22-23).Romans chapter 14 centres on welcoming one another into Christian Fellowship without involving in any controversies about doubtful practices.

The strong should accommodate the weak. The Church is a place of refuge for all manner of people. We must be careful not to refuse those God has received due to our own assessment and traditions, such practices are killing the church today. Some churches have refused to accommodate youths, young men and women that are supposed to be pillars in the church tomorrow either because of human regulations or because of their mode of dressing or because they are wretched.

Whether we are Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa or Tiv, we are ONE in Christ. The wealthy and the poor are the same before Christ and each of them will stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

We should examine ourselves; pray for grace, understanding, love, and compassion for one another. There should be no rivalry, schism, evil communication or dissension among church members. The stronger Christian must neither despite nor judge the weaker ones.

MEMORY VERSE:

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!" Psalm 133: 1

HYMN: MHB 717 (C.M) HELP us to help each other, Lord.

1. HELP us to help each other, Lord,

Each other's cross to bear,

Let each his friendly jiid afford,

And feel his brother's care.

2. Help us to build each other up,

Our little stock Improve;

Increase our faith,confirm our hope,

And perfect us in love.

3. Up Into Thee, our living Head,

Let us In all things grow,

Till Thou hast made us free Indeed,

And spotless here below.

4. Then, when the mighty work Is wrought,

Receive Thy ready bride;

Give us in heaven a happy lot

With all the sanctified.

Amen.

PRAYER
